Chapter Seven
Within an hour, Christina was resting comfortably in one of Dr. Hiller's rooms. Trent was concerned; she was so withdrawn from him and pale. He held her hand and tried to get her to look at him.
"Christina, what is it?" he asked as he caressed her cheek lovingly.
She could not hide her tears from him as she looked up. Trent felt as if he had been struck when he saw her anguish.
"Oh, baby," he said as he pulled her in his arms. "Talk to me."
"I cannot do this, Trent," she cried, trying to sit up, but he placed a gentile hand on her shoulder and eased her back so he could look at her.
"Chris, it will be all right," he said
"No! I don't want to know," she said, as fear gripped her. "Let's go home, Trent, please!"
"Chris, I know you are scared, but I am here . . . "
"I don't want to lose you!" she choked out, taking Trent by surprise. He could not understand why she was having all these fears all of a sudden.
"Sweetheart, you are never going to lose me," he said
"Yes I will," she said shakily
"Why would you even think that?" he asked as he wiped away her tears
"Because . . . if . . . this . . . is . . . Keith's . . . baby . . . "
He placed a gentile hand to her trembling lips. "It does not matter to me sweetheart," he said. "I have told you this. I love you so very much and I love this baby."
He caressed her stomach with the palm of his hand and she fell in love with him all over again. He was so compassionate and loving when it came to her.
Trent smoothed back a lock of her hair and leaned toward her. Gently he kissed her as he rubbed his cheek against hers.
Christina then heard someone clearing their throat and they looked up to find the doctor in the doorway, smiling at them
"I see that she is feeling better," he said extending his hand to Trent's
"Yes," Trent said, returning his handshake
'Now, try to relax Miss. Jade," the doctor said as he began to examine her. He poured some gel on her stomach, causing Christina to shiver. "I apologize if it is cold."
Christina smiled at him nervously. Trent kissed the palm of her hand as the doctor continued to roll the electric ball around her stomach
"Interesting,' the doctor said
"What is it?" Trent asked looking from the monitor to the doctor
Christina was trembling, afraid beyond words
"Well, she is far enough that I am able to get a reading on the fetus," the doctor said s he tapped in some numbers
"The baby?" Trent asked "That's good."
"Yes, it is," the doctor agreed. "Now, Miss. Jade, I want you to try to remember the first day of your last cycle.
"I remember that it was before Keith's trip," she said ?Four days before, May 20th. Right before we met,? she told Trent
The doctor pulled out her chart and wrote down a few notes
"It is July 5th," Trent said. "Nearly two months ago.?
"I know I haven't had my cycle since then," she said. "And I remember staring that day, because Keith beat me for it."
Trent kissed her tenderly as she fought to push that day out of her head
The doctor continued to right down some notes then he tapped in some more numbers on the machine
"You can sit up now Miss. Jade," he said as he handed her a towel and she wiped off the gel.
Trent helped her sit up, ?Is everything all right?" He asked
"Yes," the doctor said. " Miss Jade, is approximately five weeks,? he explained. "And your baby will be due on February 30th,? he said smiling at Trent
Trent's heart threatened to stop at the doctors words, "My baby?" he asked
"Your baby," the doctor repeated
"I'm going to be a father!" Trent said as he hugged Christina
"Oh, Trent!" she cried as she clung to him, tears of joy cascaded down her face and she felt a tremendous weight lifting from within
"A father!" Trent cried again. "I'm going to be a father," he said again
"Yes, I know," the doctor said grinning
"Are you sure?" Christina asked, still a little fearful
"Yes, Miss. Jade. The baby was conceived around May 27th, the doctor said to them, knowing the would understand
"It was our first time," Christina said as she gazed at Trent lovingly
?How did .....I mean, if she was pregnant when he raped her...how did the baby even survive?? Trent asked
?By a miracle, is all I can say,? the doctor said
Trent lay his head on her stomach and wept. He could not contain the pure joy and elation he was feeling. The doctor smiled at them as he stepped out, deciding to give them some time take all of this in.
"I love you little one," he whispered as he kissed her stomach. "And I love your mommy."
"Mommy!" Christina said as it hit her
"Yes, mommy," he whispered he touched his lips to hers Trent helped her dress and led her out into the hall
"Thank you for everything doctor," Trent said
"Your quite welcome," he said. "Christina, I am more than willing to continue being your doctor. I don't normally deal in the obstetrics field, but I think you are a special case," he said smiling
"She sure is," Trent said kissing her cheek
"Thank You, Dr. Hiller," Christina said smiling. "I would very much like to have you as a doctor
"Then it's settled," he said as he handed her his call
"You call my receptionist in the morning to schedule an appointment for in about 10 days," he said
"I will," she said handing the card to Trent
"It is very important that you rest," the doctor said. ?As I said, this pregnancy should not even be possible. Your body is going to be going through a tremendous change.?
"She will rest," Trent said. "I promise you."
They head back to the dojo. Once inside, Trent picks her up in his arms and swings her around. "You have made me the happiest man in the world," Trent said. "Thank you for giving me this child."
"I love you," she whispered
"Here. Sit down," he said easing her down into the kitchen chair. Then he walked away, leaving Christina alone in the kitchen
Trent pulled out a small box from under the bed and went through it, until he found what he was looking for. "Perfect!" he said to himself as he placed it in his pocket. Then he made his way back to the kitchen and went down on one knee before Christina, causing her to take in a breath
"Christina Jade, I love you more than my own life. And I love this baby," he said. You have....words cannot describe how complete you make me. You are the other half of my soul," he cried as he placed a hand over his heart
Christina's cheeks were flushed and her eyes were shining with the love she felt for him. "Would you do me the honor of becoming Mrs. Trent Malloy?" he whispered up to her. Christina gasped when he suddenly opened a small velvet box. Inside was the most beautiful ring she had ever seen.
"Oh Trent!" she cried
"This is my mother's," he said
"It's so beautiful," she said as she touched it gently
"You are beautiful," he said, holding it up, waiting for her answer
"Yes, Trent!" she cried "Yes. I will marry you!"
Trent placed the ring on her finger and then he kissed her hand. "I will love you all my days," he said
"Your mother's?" she asked as she held up her hand, admiring the ring carefully
"Yes. She gave it to me, in the hopes that I would find someone to give it to," he said as he caressed her cheek
"I will treasure it always," she said tenderly
"I need to make love to you," he said huskily
"Yes," she said reaching her arms out to him
A shudder ran through the length of his body as their hands touched
Christina gasped when his fingers touched the swell of her breasts
"My Christina," he whispered."My beautiful Christina. "His mouth moved over the slope of her neck. Kissing and nibbling. Then, he moved downward, picked her up in his arms and carried her to the bed, following her down and they soon became one as he slowly undressed he; his tongue scorched her breasts. Then his fingers found her and she opened herself fully, giving him better access to what he craved. She tossed her head back and forth as his fingers explored her, rubbing and caressing. She was coming to life under the will of his graceful hand
"Are you all right?" he asked, more concerned now that he knew that his child-his life, was nestled inside her
"Yes, I am fine, Trent," she whispered as she shifted her hips, telling him to continue. He undressed and pulled the covers up over them as he slowly entered her. They were soon moving in perfect unison
"Oh Trent!" she cried out as her heart pounded and her body quivered.
His ragged breathing matched her own as he dipped his head and suckled at her breasts. She ran her hands though his hair, urging him closer as he consumed her. Finally, with a ragged groan, he drove deeper and together, they found heaven
As they lay there, side by side, they held each other. Trent was rubbing her back and she was peacefully resting her head across his chest
"We have to make plans now, Christina," he said
"Yes," she agreed
"Do you want to live here?" he asked. "Because I can buy a house."
"I love it here," she said. "This is your home"
"No. It's our home," he said as he smoothed some hair back of her shoulder
"As long as we are together, nothing else matters," she said
Trent touched his lips to hers and then he thought of something "Why don't we call everyone over to CD's and tell them the news," he suggested, as he smiled at her
"Yes, what a wonderful idea," she agreed
"I will even call my mom," Trent said
"Your mom?" Christina asked nervously
"Yes. She is going to love you," he said tenderly
One hour later..............
Everyone had a good idea as to what was going on, but they wee still excited to be there for them
"I know you are all wondering why you are here," Trent said as he took
Christina's hand..........
Katie gasped when she saw the ring on her finger
"I wanted you all to be the first to know, That this beautiful lady has agreed to be my wife," he said happily
Everyone was silent for a moment, then Carlos whistled at started clapping, everyone joined in. He pulled Trent into a brotherly hug "Congratulations buddy," he said. "I am so happy for you two."
"This definitely calls for a celebration." CD said as he pulled out his best champagne and began pouring everyone a glass
When he got to Christina, Trent shook his head "None for her CD," Trent said causing Christina to blush as everyone looked at them, completely confused
"Are you crazy boy?" CD asked . "This is a special night for you two."
Christina hugged CD gently, bringing a smile to his face
"Thank you CD," she said. "You are sweet. But I cannot, because I am pregnant," she said happily and everyone rejoiced in the news, hugging them
"Well, I guess you can't," CD said going to the bar and getting her a sparkling water. "Here you go honey."
"Thank you CD," she said
"Oh, Trent! I have never been so happy," his mother cried as she hugged him. ?And you sweet girl...Oh.....welcome to the family," she said hugging Christina. She had never felt more loved than she did at this very moment. Being with Trent and his family. Her family now
"Thank you mom," Christina said
"Oh, did you hear that Trent?" Katie cried "she called me mom."
"I did, mom," Trent said, gazing at Christina. She was so beautiful.
"You will have to call us so we can go shopping," Alex said
"Yes," Katie said. "Well have to start making plans. Have you two set a date yet?" she asked
"Mom, I just proposed," Trent said
"Well, it will have to be before the baby is born," Alex said. "When are you due?"
"February 30th," Christina said happily
"That makes you about 6 weeks," Katie said. "Oh, how about a fall wedding? Maybe outdoors? It would be beautiful."
Christina smiled as she lowered her head. Her heart was threatening to break. She had never considered all the plans she would be making. In addition, a wedding was gong to cost a lot of money as would having a baby, and she had nothing.
"Congratulations, Trent," Walker said
"Thanks Walker," Trent said
"Bro, I am so happy for you," Tommy said as he hugged Christina "This is way cool. Now I have two sisters."
Christina smiled and returned his hug. They continued to talk with everyone, discussing the baby and the wedding.
About an hour later it started to rain and a crack of lightning hit the sky, followed by some thunder so they called it a night and thanked everyone for their support, promising to call them all soon. Then they left, heading out into the pouring rain.
Trent was so happy and he picks Christina up in his arms, swinging her around, never taking his eyes off her as he shouts over the pouring rain...
"I love you Christina!"
"I love you too!" she cried out as they kissed, the rain continued to cascade down around them
Once they are inside the dojo, Christina grabs Trent by the jacket and pulled him closer to her
"We are going to have such a wonderful life together," she said softly and with so much emotion that is pulled Trent's heart and left him speechless for a moment. Then, she pulled him closer and kissed him with such assertion that it left him breathless
"You will never know what you do to me," he said as he recovered his breathing He cupped her face in his hands and explored her mouth in return; it lasted for what seemed like an eternity. Then they broke apart and went up to the loft. Trent started a fire, setting warmth through the room and then he kissed her before going in to change
Christina spread out some blankets and pillows, making a soft bed before the fire. Then she undressed and lay there, brushing out her hair, before turning to wait........
Trent came out, dressed in a pair of boxers. The sight of her, astounded him as she he sat up, letting the covers pool around her waist. The firelight caressing her features, glinting her hair, shimmering on her bare shoulders. She held out her arms to him, in silent invitation.
His feet felt like lead as he moved toward her.........
"Christina, you are so beautiful," He said, his voice ragged with emotion. He dropped down to his knees and wrapped her in his arms. Her skin was so wet, and yet so warm and inviting. He took in a breath as he felt her arms go around his waist, and then her hand slipped inside his boxers until she felt his strength. She slowly caressed him, causing him to take in a breath
"Oh God!" he cried as she continued to cares and stroke him. The she slipped his boxers off and was soon pressing her body with his, drawing him down on the blankets.
In the distant corner of his mind, Trent was telling himself to stop. She needed rest. But the passion of their kiss and her touch made those thoughts fade, drowning out everything but the taste of her.
He covered her body with his as his hands glided over her flesh. He felt as if he was a condemned man and she was his salvation.
His arms tightened around her as he deepened the kiss; his tongue searching hers. A muffled groan of pain and pleasure was trapped in his throat as her tongue met his; inviting him to taste and explore
Her hands roamed over his back, chest and shoulders eagerly. The touch of his bare flesh against hers was exhilarating and she drew him closer. He was strong and hard; she was yielding and soft She gazed into his beautiful blue eyes and saw the yeaning; the hunger that was mirrored there. Then he pressed his mouth to hers once more, branding her-his, forever more
"I love you," he whispered
"And I love you," she said tenderly. "Please don't stop!"
"I'd sooner stop breathing," he said huskily within her ear. Then he pressed his mouth to her throat, then lower. He felt her tremble as she arched against his mouth upon her flesh. Desire stronger than before shot through Trent as she led him on, urging him. Creating fire within him as he sank into the depths of her silken curves. She moved beneath him. Lost in the power of his embrace. They sought the ultimate pleasure and when it burst upon them, Trent was shocked by the power of it. It seemed that every time they made love it grew to new heights
He held her close as that final lightning storm passed. Then she rested her head on his shoulder, her hand spread across his chest
"Christina, I noticed you grew quiet when my mom and Alex offered helped plan the wedding," he said as he continued to caress her shoulders
Christina just lowered her head, letting the sadness grip her
"What is it?" He asked as he tilted her chin up so she would look at him
"I...was... just surprised," she said. "I have never known such kindness."
"That is my mom and Alex," he said. "They will smother you with it."
She felt ashamed and she tried to turn her head again, but Trent gently turned her to face him
"Baby, there is more to it, isn't there?" he asked
"No, Trent..."
"It's not just my mom and Alex, is it?" he asked. "Tell me!" he urged as he tenderly smoothed some hair back off her shoulders
"Planning a wedding takes time Trent," she said quietly. "And money."
"Oh sweetheart, I am going to see to it that you want for nothing," he said. I will take care of you-always. That I swear on the life of my child," he whispered as he kissed her stomach
"I love you so much," she said as she pressed her mouth to his and Trent accepted what she was offering...
The telephone rang, breaking through their passionate embrace....
"Are you going to answer that?" She asked as his hands continued to play along her skin
"I'm sure they will call back," he said breathless at the way she was touching him
The phone continued to ring, so Trent reluctantly got up to answer it "Trent Malloy," he said as he tried to catch his breath
"Hey buddy," Carlos said from the other end
"Carlos, this had better be important," Trent said
Carlos had a good idea at what he was interrupting and he smiled "I'm sorry Trent," he said. "But it is. I got a lead on the case."
"Stevens" Trent asked as he smiled over at Christina
"Yes," Carlos said. " Kim was able to track down his brother and he arranged a meeting."
"Address?" Trent asked
"On the east side/ 62 Mound," Carlos said
"All right. I'll see you in ten," Trent said hanging up the phone. ?Chris, I have to go meet Carlos. I am so sorry," he said as he leaned down and kissed her tenderly
"It's all right," she said, half pouting
"Are you sure?" he asked
"Yes. I'll just rest here before the fire she said as he kissed her one last time. Trying hard not to resist the urge to finish what they had started. "Hold that thought," he said sensually as he caught the look of passion in her eyes
Trent arrived at the address Carlos had given him and they went to the side of the building
"Were suppose to meet him inside," Carlos said
"Smells like a trap," Trent said, not missing the men that were hiding at the top of the building across the street
Carlos nodded and they slowly pried the door open, not prepared for what awaited on the inside..........
"I have four months invested in this and Malloy and Sandaul are not going to stop me!"
"They are not stupid!"
"Thanks for the compliment," Trent said as they came out in the open
"Welcome to the party gentlemen," Stevens said as he leveled his gun. ?Drop it Carlos!?
Carlos turned to Trent, waiting....
Trent sprang into action, running toward Stevens, kicking the gun out of his hand and knocking him to the ground
The other man ran out, when Stevens came back up and reached for his gun, but one look from Trent warned him not to move...
Carlos proceeded out the door. Trent used the toe of his boot to flip Stevens over
"Assume the position!" Trent said
"This isn't over Malloy!" he threatened. "Just because my brother talked doesn't mean he won't want revenge. Before we are through, everyone you care about will suffer!"
"You are in no position to make threats, Stevens," Trent said
Carlos came back in with two more men in their custody and when they went out the front, Stevens was shot down
"I'll draw their fire," Trent told Carlos
"No Trent!"
His warning came to late and Carlos
watched in horror as his best friend was shot down...............
